News from the TIC Council Anti-Counterfeiting Committee
23. June 2020 by Eduard Daoud

As the world is more interconnected than ever thanks to advancements in e-commerce, trade and information sharing, there has been an increase in opportunities for rogue operators to take advantage of these complexities and circulate counterfeited or pirated products on the global market In order to fight this phenomenon, the TIC Council Anti-Counterfeiting Committee has published a White Paper focusing on those products which have falsified certification or testing documents, providing guidelines as to how to best identify these products and their circulators and what can be done once these are identified. You can find the White Paper at this page.

My statement on this:
We highly appreciate this step. With our scientific contribution on the topic of tackling the misuse of product certificates, we have demonstrated that a technical solution is possible (https://www.researchgate.net/publication/339983307_IMPROVING_FAKE_PRODUCT_DETECTION_USING_AI-_BASED_TECHNOLOGY).

Furthermore, with our implementation of https://app.certificateok.de/Consumer we have also realized the feasibility of detecting counterfeit product certificates with the help of Artificial Intelligence. All this should be close to the end customer, otherwise not effective enough. Now we are working on an innovative implementation for the automatic surveillance of misuse of product certificates eCommerce Platform!
